  A lot has happened in the past 48 hours… (Was it 48? At this point, time doesn’t feel real) Sorry there aren’t many photos – there was a bit of sensory and bandwidth overload. Long story short, a lot was involved in settling in… Day 1 here. Day 2 to come. Anyway, let’s start with the flight. I flew from New York to Delhi and then from Delhi to Pune.   First flight, they made me check in my carry-on. For the first half of the flight, I was worried about the logistics of getting my bag but my worries were assuaged by the flight attendant. The first 6 hours went by pretty slowly but the rest of the flight passed by easily.  Highlight of the flight was watching a documentary on Mr. Rogers. As a kid, I thought the show was slow and boring but the documentary made me see the show in a new light. But Mr. Rogers was on a mission. Jan 14-15 Monkeys and Mumbai

Since our Airbnb would be occupied the night of Jan 14, we decided to stay in Mumbai for that night. The famous Taj Mahal Hotel. Also where there was a huge massacre in 2008. View of Taj Mahal Hotel and Gateway of India at night, photo taken from Elephanta Ferry Some trains are pretty crowded On our way to the train station, I saw my first monkey of the day. As we waited for the Uber, the monkey leaped onto a wall into the brush. I didn't get a chance to take a picture, but I remember that the monkey was larger than the dogs chasing it away. On the way to the train station, we passed a more central part of Pune. There were many murals painted for G20 and the streets felt cleaner in those areas. In addition, I saw runners for the first time since arriving! Probably white collar professionals. The train station was quite a busy place, though not as bad as I was anticipating. Concord, MA - Aug 12

A sunny day with friends! Since its early days, the town of Concord was known for its wealth. Every prominent figure who visited Boston would also visit Concord. The resources concentrated in Concord drew the attention of the British army in 1775; those resources were Minutemen munitions.  We visited the Old Manse, where Reverend William Emerson - the "Patriot pastor" - once resided. He was known as the Patriot pastor because he preached that people had the divine right to freedom and that there should be no taxation without representation. In fact, the British army and Minuteman had converged on the grounds of the Old Manse in 1775. All of the men in the Emerson family attended Harvard College, followed by Harvard Divinity School. The top Harvard student would often become the priest of Concord, though most of the Emerson family became priests in surrounding areas of Boston. Ralph Waldo Emerson, the grandson of William Emerson, did not want to follow in this tradition. While...
